Cleveland Heights turned up its defense and clamped down on visiting Shaw in a 67-50 win on Jan. 8.

The Tigers had 21 steals and created 27 turnovers by the Cardinals to improve to 3-4 on the season.

Heights jumped out to a 41-23 lead at halftime and cruised to victory.

Bryan Ottrix led Heights with 17 points. E.J. Farmer scored 15 points and added four steals. Keyshawn Hall scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds, and Cam Majors netted nine points for the Tigers.

Heights was scheduled to host University School on Jan. 9, but the game was canceled due to COVID issues for the Preppers.
