Cleveland Heights opened the season with a dominant 86-54 win over Orange at the Great Lakes Classic on Nov. 30.
It was the first win for Coach JR Bremer, a Heights alum.
EJ Farmer scored 24 and Garvin Clarke added 14 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds as the Tigers jumped out to a 25-point halftime lead.
The final score would have been more lopsided had Heights not struggled at the foul line (19 of 45).
“I am very proud of the way the team came out and competed from the start of the game all the way to the finish,” Bremer said. “Focusing on starting the games better was an emphasis we had in practice. Our free throw percentage was very uncharacteristic, but overall it was a very good home opener.”
