Cleveland Heights earned the No. 3 seed in the Division I Euclid District for the upcoming state tournament.
“I feel like we earned the seed and the spot we are in based off body of work, and the eye test,” Heights coach Michael Cruz said. “Despite the record, we were good enough to be anywhere from a 1 to a 3 seed, but off of our record we are where we probably should be. if you look at our schedule, a few things go our way and we could be a different seed. The thing is in this district, which might be the toughest in Northeast Ohio, any of the top teams can beat any other team and I have great respect for all the teams in our district, but if we play well we can beat anyone, and yes, if we don’t play well, we can lose to anyone.”
Heights will host a sectional final against the East Tech/Ashtabula Lakeside winner on March 2.
Mentor is the No. 1 seed and Brush is the No. 2 seed.
