Tigers News · HEIGHTS BOYS BASKETBALL – Tigers fall vs. Bedford

Cleveland Heights coach Michael Cruz hopes a 50-45 loss to Bedford on Feb. 5 is a learning experience for the Tigers.

“We will see how this goes, hopefully it is a game we will learn from and get better heading into the tournament. because if not we will look back on it as a tough game that will be tough to get 0ver,” Cruz said. “I love the way our guys have responded in practice.”

Louisville recruit Jae’Lyn Withers did not play – held out because of injury – but he will be back at full strength for a Feb. 8 game at Lorain.

Manny Hill led the Tigers with 16 points and Nigel Martin added 11.

Heights (9-7) was outscored, 28-17, in the second half.

“They played a zone and took us out of a lot of our transition, but still I was a little disappointed we couldn’t get more done offensively – however, all credit to Bedford,” Cruz said.

Greg Pitts added 7 points in the loss for the Tigers.
